William Jones introduced his New Portable Orrey in 1782 and the model was continued well into the 1850's. It was based on the design proposed by, among others, James Ferguson. He was later joined by his son in the buisness.
W Jones & Son made and sold a variety of instruments and books at their shop on Holborn 135.
